From Veils to Swimwear, Tala Raassi is Every Woman

Dar Be Dar
Tala Raassi, an Iranian born designer, has unveiled her latest swimwear collection, Dar Be Dar. The name literally means "door to door" in Farsi, but is used in Persian culture to describe one who is all over the place. Although, it is ironic that a woman from a country where women are forbidden to show their hair let alone their skin, would design sexy swimwear that would give Amir Slama of Rosa Cha, a run for his Speedos. Nevertheless, if you ask Tala Raassi, her latest collection acts as a form of fashionable protest against those who drive women to detest their own bodies. Tala Raassi Tala Raassimakes body conscious designs in celebration of the beauty of women. This collection is anything but all over the place; in fact it brings out the best in two of our most intimate places.

After becoming captivated by fashion at a very young age, Raassi became a make up artist, working for the most notable brands in the cosmetic industry. In 2005, Raassi formed her own clothing company, Tala Raassi LLC, under which she launched a variety of apparel, ranging from menswear to women's wear, all reflecting the ancient aesthetics of her Persian heritage, her love for modern silhouettes, and global living. In 2006 she opened "Profile Fashion" a cutting edge boutique in Washington D.C, where she currently resides. She later sold her interests in the store to focus on the growth of her clothing line. Staying true to her mission, today, Raassi, acts not only as chief designer, but also as pattern maker, seamstress, production manager and make up artist during her photo shoots.

Raassi's swimwear is inspired by her vacations to Brazil, which is evident in the daring cuts, and colors of her pieces. Raassi seamlessly blends; bum bearing Brazilian cuts with America's body conscious ones. She uses exotic prints and rich fabrics, complimenting the lines of a woman. Not only are these suits sexy but they are fully functional, you don't have to pose at the beach all day in order to avoid damaging your designer suits. Priced at $115 and under, you can travel to the white sand beaches of Ipanema, or ride the waves of the California coast and look, sexy while doing so. Lose the tankini, and granny bottom suits, and be fearlessly sexy in Dar Be Dar. As Tala Raassi says, "A woman who cares about herself is not afraid to celebrate the beauty of her own body."
